Coachella Valley residents react to election results
Coachella Valley residents are waking up to the latest election results, with former President Donald Trump winning another term in office.
Local reaction to these results are a mixed bag along El Paseo in Palm Desert.
Several happy supporters of the president-elect gathered to chat at the Starbucks on El Paseo and expressed their optimism for the future after Trump's victory.
"I'm looking forward to a strong economy, manufacturing jobs back, local jobs back and again back to people being able to achieve the American dream," expressed Cynthia Nelson, a part-time resident of the Coachella Valley and Colorado.
Others, though, like Bob Bettger, a retired farmer from Nebraska, said he was disappointed to learn of the results.
"Well, I was disappointed. I am a Republican. Nebraska's a Republican state. They went for the former president," Bettger explained, saying he supports candidates like Mitt Romney or Liz Cheney over Donald Trump. "I just thought the former president just was out on the edge too far, carried things too far in my view. And so I just couldn't vote for him."
