Standoff in Palm Desert ends, suspect arrested
Updated post:
Investigators announced Thursday night that an hours-long standoff had ended.
They said the incident began after a suspect vehicle, which had been involved in an early-morning pursuit, was spotted off San Pascual, near Civic Center Park.
A pursuit, which had been reported earlier that morning around 5:30 a.m., began when investigators said the suspect vehicle didn't stop.
Investigators said the driver was temporarily able to evade deputies, until they spotted the vehicle in Palm Desert.
That incident turned into a long standoff, which ended once deputies say they obtained a search warrant, to enter the home and arrest the suspect.
He was identified as a 38-year-old from Palm Desert - who was arrested on a number of charges.
