Faithful walk in Our Lady of Guadalupe Pilgrimage across Coachella Valley
An estimated 10,000 Catholic faithful walked in the annual Our Lady of Guadalupe Pilgrimage of 30 miles across the Coachella Valley on Thursday, which grew to about 20,000 when they reached their destination.
After a 5:00 a.m. mass service, the pilgrimage walk began around 6:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Solitude in Palm Springs.
It was expected to last around 13 hours - until 7:00 p.m. - to reach the Valley Missionary Program in Coachella, but it ran about an hour behind schedule.
