Sunny Skies & 80s Set Stage for MLK Weekend

We're looking at a fantastic 3-day weekend across the Coachella Valley with skies remaining clear and mild with light offshore flow.

Through the MLK Day weekend, lingering but more localized Santa Ana conditions will keep highs well above average, climbing into the upper 70s and low 80s, especially Saturday.

For weekend travelers heads up, breezes will pick up at times through the passes and mountain slopes, however I don't think we'll see gusts much higher than about 35mph. Sunday stays dry and warm, as winds gradually ease as the pressure gradient weakens as our ridge of high pressure elongates farther to the north.

Overnight lows cool, but just slightly warmer than seasonable, with clear skies each night. Some wind sheltered locations could see cooler temperatures thanks to radiational cooling--but that's more likely west of the mountains.

Looking ahead to next week, a gradual cooling trend sets in, but we still stay warm! Daytime highs return back into the mid to upper 70s by midweek, still slightly above normal, with dry conditions continuing and no rain expected for now.
