Weakening winds into Friday

A First Alert Weather Alert is no longer in effect as winds, while still gusty, are not as strong as they once were.

The National Weather Service has extended the Wind Advisory through 3:00 a.m. Friday for west winds 25-35 MPH.

Here's a look at some of the strongest gusts recorded around the desert today:

The trough of low pressure will move east beginning tomorrow and winds will subside as a result.

Winds stay breezy but will continue to calm through Friday. Temperatures will be on the rise through the weekend, nearing 90° by Monday.
