Final day of excessive heat ahead of milder temperatures

While we do remain under an Excessive Heat Warning for this evening, temperatures today are significantly cooler than Monday's and Tuesday's. The warning will expire at 8:00PM this evening.

You may have also noticed today that it felt noticeably more humid outside. A renewed pus of monsoonal moisture has raised dew points valley-wide. The bump in moisture is partly why temperatures today were on the more mild side.

There are some big changes happening in our atmospheric pattern over the next few days. Starting tomorrow, a trough (area of low pressure) will begin to move south along the west coast. This trough will being in cooler air, resulting in temperatures below average starting Friday.

The next seven days will be quite nice here in the Coachella Valley! Temperatures will be around average tomorrow, but will be well below average starting Friday and lasting at least through the middle of next week.
