Truck carrying donated items for Harvey relief arrives in Houston

A truck carrying donated clothes, toys and other items from the Coachella Valley arrived at Houston on Tuesday. The items for the victims of Hurricane Harvey were gathered through a drive held by the veteran’s organization, Rebuilding America’s Warriors (RAW).

According to Maggie Lockridge, a President/Founder of RAW, the truck left the valley on Sunday and reached Texas Monday morning. The plan is to reach San Antonio by Monday night where they met up with trucks from other veteran’s organizations to convoy to Houston.

All of the items were donated during a drive that occurred Friday that received overwhelming community support. What was supposed to be a two day event turned into just a two and a half hour event with the 26 ft. U-Haul truck filled.

The items will then be given to the United Way of Houston to be distributed to victims.
