Local teacher and triathlete competing on biggest stages for the sport

Alex Napier is set to compete in two races – the Ironman 70.3 World Championships in Tennessee and the ITU Olympic Distance Worlds in the Netherlands.

She is a middle school teacher in Palm Desert but competing in triathlons is something she loves to do.

Napier says, “there’s something about triathlons. I just love doing triathlons. I’m not sure where that comes from but when I’m out there on the race course, especially at the end you know your competitors are, you know who you’re racing against and there’s something inside of you something inside your heart that says I’m going after them, I’m going to chase them down and get them to finish line.”
