Man proposes to girlfriend at Westfield Palm Desert

For most shoppers it was just like any other day at the mall. But for Chelsea Edwards, Sunday was anything but ordinary.

Her boyfriend created an elaborate plan to get her to the mall: Creating National Chelsea Day with stores gifting her with goodies and family and friends handing her roses. Next, a flash mob in the food court.
Then a trip to the movies. But instead of the latest Star Wars film, a film about their lives together played. It was trip down memory lane for Chelsea and Cody of all their favorite moments together.

But then just like in any good movie, Chelsea’s Prince Charming got down on one knee. Of course her answer was yes.

Chelsea told us she was confused as she walked through the mall, even texting cody to ask what was going on.

“I’m kind of an over-the-top person in general, as everyone who’s here will attest to, and I wanted to make it different and I wanted to make it a quarter as special as she is to me,” White said.

Friends and family watched the entire proposal unfold happy for the couple.

“It’s overwhelming. I couldn’t stop crying. I didn’t want to cry, the second he started the movie the tears came. I’m so happy for her,” Chelsea’s mom, Victoria Edwards, said.

“We always can count on young lovers to surprise and delight the world with their imaginative proposals,” Cody’s dad, Jerry White, said.

Chelsea and Cody said they’re excited to share the rest of their lives together.
