News Channel 3 takes an in-depth look at SBCSD’s review of challenges with blizzard response
For the past six months, we’ve been pressing San Bernardino County officials about their handling of a powerful blizzard earlier this year. Some residents in the county's mountain communities were left stranded for several days.
“We felt really abandoned by the county,” Ellah Ronen, a Crestline resident.
After declining our invitations for interviews, a county spokesperson says they plan to release an after-action report sometime in November.
But News Channel 3’s Jennifer Franco, examined a storm review by the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department.
It reveals challenges with the disaster response and the changes the department says need to be made so the same mistakes aren’t repeated – leaving people stranded in a ‘snowbound struggle.’
