Warming up this weekend
Another cold start to the day is expected with temperatures in the 40s across the valley. Frost is still possible, namely for east valley communities, this morning.
Warmer days are ahead starting this weekend. Daytime highs will reach the mid 60s today and the low 70s, which is near our seasonal average, by Sunday. Overnight lows will still be cool, ranging from the low to mid 50s, but not as frigid as temperatures were earlier this week.
An incoming low pressure system could bring light rain to Southern California by Sunday. That rain is likely to favor San Diego County and Riverside County mountains. The Coachella Valley is expected to stay dry this weekend but winds will take on a breezier pattern with gusts up to 20 mph. Winds will be stronger near the San Gorgonio Pass, the High Desert and San Bernardino County mountains where peak gusts could reach up to 45-55 mph. A Wind Advisory has been called for San Bernardino County mountains and the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning from 10 p.m. Saturday until 3 p.m. Sunday due to these windier conditions.
A subtle warming trend into the low to mid 70s will last well into next week.
