A Warm Weekend Ahead

We started Friday with a bang, literally, as a 6.5 magnitude quake struck 35 miles West of Tonopah, NV, shaking the ground from San Francisco to Mexico. So far, no reports of injuries or serious damage.

Weatherwise, Sunny skies, and winds that are gradually settling down will kick off the weekend, and today we see a modest increase in highs, up to 95 from the 92 we posted yesterday at PSP. High pressure building in across the Western US will be responsible for heating things up this weekend.

That 95 degree we're expecting is only a couple of degrees warmer than the normal for the date.

As we move through weekend, we'll warm-up a bit, closer to 98 for a couple of days before a more significant storm system drops into the Pacific NW, giving us gusty winds Monday & Tuesday, and bringing temperatures down for the middle of next week.

The full 7-day shows a bit of a roller-coaster temperature ride through the better part of next week.
