Competition celebrates community at Battle of the Broadcasters

Today’s Battle of the Broadcasters softball game offered a unique opportunity to bring community and law enforcement together through sports. The game was a chance to celebrate the community, law enforcement agencies and our local little leaguers for opening day.

The softball tournment against NBC Palm Springs took place Saturday morning at Civic Center Park. The final score was KMIR 7 – KESQ 3.

News Channel 3 paired up with Palm Desert Police to take on KMIR and the Palm Springs and Palm Desert fire fighters.

Kids and families could enjoy opening day games, fun zones, face painting, and lots of ballpark food — including an In-N-Out food truck.

Karen Devine, John White, Jeff Stahl, Blake Arthur and Haley Clawson all participated.

News Channel 3 gives a big thank you to the firefighters and police officers for all they do to keep us safe…and of course a big congratulations to KMIR for winning the trophey!
