Locals celebrate St. Patty’s Day across the valley

Hundreds of locals were out Sunday afternoon enjoying their St. Patrick’s Day across the valley.

Downtown Palm Springs was packed with people dressed in green celebrating the holiday. Shamrock’s Irish Pub was a popular spot all weekend, and across town in Rancho Mirage O’Caine’s Irish Pub celebrated their grand opening weekend offering traditional live Irish music, food and drinks.

“The inspiration for my mother and I, who is my partner, was my grandmother. We grew up with Irish culture. My grandmother was constantly preaching that to use and she said one day we need to open up a pub and she unfortunately passed a few years ago. But we did this in dedication of her,” said Mark Pierce, the co-owner of O’Caine’s Irish pub.
