Pedestrian hit and killed by car in Palm Springs
An 84 year old woman was killed Tuesday night while crossing South Palm Canyon Drive in Palm Springs and hit by a car.
The accident was reported just before 6:00 p.m. at South Palm Canyon Drive near Avenida Palmera and Sonora Road.
Palm Springs Police spokesperson Mike Kovaleff confirms that the pedestrian died on scene after being hit by a car. Police and emergency crews shut down the intersection for hours while they investigated the accident. It does not appear that drugs or alcohol were a factor, says Palm Springs Police.
The identity of the woman has not been released at this time.
