Winter storm hits Coachella Valley

A major January storm has brought strong winds to the Coachella Valley and rain and snow to our west.

In Indio, strong wind gusts have toppled several trees, some falling on automobiles. Weather Forecaster Jerry Stefan says, “that a major cold front is on its way! High wind warning is in effect through Friday morning.

A winter storm warning is in effect through 10 p.m. Thursday for area mountains above 3500-feet. Frost Advisories have also been posted for the East Valley for this weekend.
