Two men arrested in Palm Desert on separate DUI charges
Two men were arrested today on suspicion of drunkendriving in separate solo-vehicle wrecks in Palm Desert, a sheriff’s sergeantsaid.
A Toyota Tundra driven by Javier Sanchez, 37, of Coachella, crossedHighway 111 into oncoming traffic, hit a curb and came to rest on the lawn infront of One West Bank on Town Center Way about 1:30 a.m., Sgt. Radek Horkelsaid.
Sanchez was checked out at a hospital and arrested on suspicion of DUIand booked into county jail in Indio.
About 2:05 a.m., Camilo Gomez, 28, of Palm Desert, crashed a Ford Fiestainto a fire hydrant at Monterey Avenue and Parkview Drive, he said. Gomez wastaken to a hospital, then booked and locked up on suspicion of drunken driving.
