Police confirm murder investigation underway outside a local restaurant
Palm Springs Police were on the scene of what they say was a murder committed outside a fast-food restaurant on the 5600 block of East Ramon Road early Tuesday morning.
Officers were called to the front of Raising Cane's at 1:21 a.m.
A police spokesperson said initial information was very limited. He said there was a male victim who had yet to be identified.
Witnesses told police there was an altercation between two people and then what sounded like gunshots.
Then, a car took off from the area where the body was found.
No details have been released on the suspect.
A coroner was at the scene shortly after 6 a.m. to pick up the dead body.
A portion of the shopping center will remain closed until investigators finish gathering evidence.
