No injuries reported in Anza house fire

Firefighters were mopping up Monday morning after a house fire in the rural mountain community of Anza, in the mountains south of Palm Desert.

Firefighters said a family of five was forced out of their home following an attic fire along the 56000 block of Johnson Road.

The fire was reported at 4:15 this morning and contained within an hour’s time.

The Red Cross is helping the family find a place to stay.

There was no word of any injuries, and there was no word on a cause.
