John Edwards Admits To Fathering Child
WASHINGTON -The lawyer for a videographer for former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards says it’s “good for everyone” that Edwards has admitted he fathered a child with the woman.
New Jersey-based lawyer Michael Critchley says Edwards’ confession Thursday that he was the father of RielleHunter’s nearly 2-year-old daughter amounted a public acknowledgment of something that was known privately.
He said Hunter did not have an immediate comment.
Edwards’ admission comes shortly before a book on the scandal is due out from a former campaign aide who was expected to describe how Edwards worked to hide his paternity.
