Firefighters Battle Cathedral City House Fire

Firefighters are mopping up at the scene of a house fire on Encinitas Road between Avenida La Paz and Avenida Maravilla.

Cathedral City Fire Department officials tell News Channel 3 the fire broke out around 12:45, this afternoon, causing significant damage to the front of the home.

A woman who lives in the home told us her ex-husband was there watching one of their children when the fire started. Five people live in the home, and they will probably have to find another place to stay tonight.

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
