Brush Fires Erupt After Heavy Thunderstorms

Cal Fire and Riverside County firefighters responded to multiple reports of brush fires being ignited by lightning strikes near the area of Sage Road on Wednesday afternoon.

Lightning strikes accompanied the precipitation.

Fire crews responded to a location around Highway 79 and Crosley Truck Trail, and several other locations, including one in Sun City.

Many smaller fires were still burning Wednesday afternoon.
