Mecca Bridge Work To Begin Monday

A project to replace a bridge on the 86 Expressway near Mecca will begin Nov. 1, and motorists should expect travel delays, Caltrans announced today.

The $460,000 project to repair the bridge on the expressway at Kings Storm Channel will continue for six weeks, with weekday lane restrictions planned between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m., according to Caltrans spokeswoman Shelli Lombardo.

Traffic may be reduced to one lane at times, she said.

The contract was awarded to the Colorado-based American Civil Constructors.
