Police Determine Publicist Was ‘Targeted’ In Murder
Beverly Hills police have determined longtime movie publicist Ronni Chasen was “targeted” and shot to death in a vehicle-to- vehicle shooting, Mayor Jimmy Delshad told NBC4 Thursday night.
“She was shot through the passenger window” of her late-model Mercedes- Benz E-350 “as she made a left onto Whittier from Sunset,” Delshad told NBC 4.
“Due to the high angle of shots fired it is believed” the suspect’s vehicle “was a SUV,” Delshad said.
Ronnie Chasen’s murder will be featured on “America’s Most Wanted,” which airs Saturday night at 9 p.m. on our sister station, KDFX, Fox-11
KCAL9 also reported tonight that Chasen was the intended target of the shooting, and that she may have been the victim of road rage or a carjacking.
Chasen, 64, was shot five times in the chest at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to Beverly Hills police. She was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, according to the coroner’s office.
