Christmas Tree Recycling Begins This Week

Riverside County residents with curbside trash service can recycle their Christmas trees by leaving them at the curb for the next two weeks, the county Waste Management Department announced today.

Those without curbside pickup can recycle their trees at nine collection sites throughout the county.

Residents can drop off up to three trees for free until Jan. 17.

All lights and ornaments must be removed and artificial and flocked trees are not accepted.

Trees brought to landfills in Blythe, Oasis, Mecca or Desert Center will not be recycled and regular landfill fee rates will apply.
