La Quinta Salon, Customers Robbed At Gunpoint

Two men stole cash and a customer’s purse at gunpoint late today at a beauty salon in a La Quinta shopping center, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies were sent to Salon Venus, located in the shopping center anchored by Smart & Final at 79800 Highway 111, about 5:30 p.m., Deputy Melissa Nieburger said.

At least one of the men was armed, she said.

One of the suspects was described as Hispanic, about 5-foot-8 and 180 pounds. There was no description of the second man, and it was unclear whether they fled in a vehicle or on foot.
