SkyWest Plane’s Landing Gear Locks Up At Palm Springs Airport

A SkyWest plane’s landing gear locked up soon after landing at Palm Springs International Airport on Tuesday.

The plane’s regional jet had landed at 11:05 a.m. and was taxiing to its gate when the left main landing gear locked up, said FAA spokesman Ian Gregor.

Fire crews responded after smoke was seen coming from the gear area. The pilot and crew stopped the plan on the taxiway, where passengers were taken off the plane.

No one was injured, and authorities will try to determine what caused the problem.
