Woman Denies Alleged Meth Lab In Her Home
Laura Miranda, 19, returned to her rental home Tuesday morning at the 43-000 block of Illinois Ave. after spending the night in jail. She was arrested for domestic battery.
When deputies came to their house Monday night on a domestic disturbance call, they allegedly found barrels of hazardous materials used to make meth. Miranda says the items do not belong to them.
“When we came to rent the house,” she said, “there were still things from the previous people who rented the house.”
Miranda and her fiancee Gustavo Zazueta, 30, moved into the home a week a half ago. They knew the previous tenants left some things behind.
“The owner told us he was going to remove everything in two to three weeks. So, I have nothing to do with that. My fiancee has nothing to with that,” she said.
A neighbor who only wanted to be identified as “Kimberly” told News Channel 3: “It’s a quiet neighborhood for the most part. But, it’s scary. I’m just glad that the police got a hold of this real quick and apprehended it.”
Deputies arrested Zazueta for having an assault weapon and for owning a large amount of ammunition.
Miranda denies neighbors’ claims they heard gunshots. She claims she’s being framed
A spokesperson for the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department says additional charges will be filed against Zarzueta regarding the alleged meth lab. He will be charged with selling methamphetamines and, pending lab results, for manufacturing the drug.
