Grants Handed Out to Local Schools

The Pinnacle Fund has handed out $15,000 to help fund educational arts and technology projects at schools within the Palm Springs Unified School District.

The funds will go to teachers whose 13 grant proposals were accepted.

The largest grants, worth about $2,500 each, are going to 3 schools.

They include Cahuilla Elementary School, Cathedral City High School, and Nellie Coffman Middle School.

These grants focus on “Putting Arts and Technology back in the Classroom.”

Then an additional 5 grants, worth about $1,000 each, will go to Cabot Yerxa Elementary School, Desert Hot Springs High School (2 grants), Palm Springs High School, and Raymond Cree Middle School.

These grants focus on performing and visual arts projects and media enrichment.

In the Teacher/Classroom Mini-grant Category, 5 grants, worth about $500 each, were awarded to Cielo Vista Charter Elementary School, Katherine Finchy Elementary School, Painted Hills Middle School, Palm Springs High School, and Raymond Cree Middle School.

These grants will focus on collaborative learning projects and programs in theatre and music.

The Pinnacle Fund is the Foundation for the Palm Springs Unified School District.
