Loma Linda Medical Center reopens after evacuation
Explosives experts removed a harmless device from a man who came into a Southern California emergency room and said he had a bomb.
San Bernardino County sheriff’s spokeswoman Cindy Bachman says the suspicious device attached to the man Thursday was removed and X-rayed and it was determined it was not an explosive.
The all-clear was sounded at about 11 a.m., nearly two hours after the man entered the Loma Linda University Medical Center emergency room.
The man was put on a stretcher and rolled out to a concrete parking structure so the bomb squad could remove the device.
Bachman says the man has been detained and will likely undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
