Firefighters extinguish blaze at home on Clancy Lane

Firefighters made quick work of a fast moving fire at a home on Clancy Lane in Rancho Mirage late Friday afternoon.

Cal Fire got the call just before 2pm that a home was on fire on Clancy Lane near Bob Hope Drive. When on scene, they found an abandoned 2-3,000 square foot residence and several trees on fire.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze just after 2:45 p.m. Cal Fire says it destroyed half the home and 12 nearby palm trees. They will remain on scene for several hours for salvage and overhaul. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
