It’s “Hollywood Behind the Scenes” tonight at Rancho Mirage Library
Los Angeles Times film critic Betsy Sharkey will speak at the Rancho Mirage Public Library tonight.
The free 7 p.m. talk is part of the “Hollywood Behind the Scenes” series the library organizes with the Palm Springs International Film Society.
Sharkey has been a film critic for The Times since 2008. She joined the paper in 1998 as television editor and later became film and entertainment editor, responsible for directing movie, TV and pop music coverage and helping launch “The Envelope,” the newspaper’s entertainment awards and industry section.
Sharkey is a contributing critic for Entertainment Weekly’s “Critical Mass,” a sampling of critics from around the country. Before joining the Times, Sharkey wrote for the Adweek group of magazines, The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly and Esquire.
The `Hollywood Behind the Scenes” series offers highlights in movie history and goes inside the film industry with five nationally known movie critics.
