Movie to be made about 2006 Esperanza Fire
Legendary Pictures has worked out a deal with Sean O’Keefe to adapt a movie about the 2006 Esperanza Fire, according to Deadline Hollywood.The movie will be adopted from John Maclean’s book, “The Esperanza Fire.”
The wildland fire that burned near Cabazon west of Palm Springs killed five firefighters after it was started by an arsonist. Prosecution of the arsonist led to the first conviction of a wildland arsonist for first-degree murder and the death penalty.
O’Keefe has worked on projects such asThe Paperman, Riders On The Storm, Apaches, The Cruelest Miles,andWorld’s Most Wanted.
