Desert Center flooding

Highway 177 to Highway 62 in Desert Center – off of Interstate 10 – is closed due to flooding and debris. The roadway is expected to remain closed until Sunday afternoon according to CHP.

There were reports of motorists who were stranded due to water on the roadway from thunderstorms that hit the area Saturday afternoon. The motorists just have to wait till the waters recede before they can pass through and get out safely.

Also reports of 371 people without power there.
