10-year-old is back home after losing leg at school
The 10-year old boy who lost part of his leg because of a crash at Lincoln Elementary school is now out of the hospital. Adrian Grajeda was playing at recess last month when a car crashed through a fence on the playground.
Police say the driver, 83-year- old Malcolm Patterson, hit his accelerator instead of the brake.
The debris severely injured Adrian’s leg. It had to be amputated below the knee, a devastating injury for the youth soccer player.
On Sunday his mom told us Adrian is making quite a bit of progress.
This is Adrian when he was still at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital.
Adrian’s mom tells us he is now back home, but still has a long way to go to repair the damage to his leg.
His family and friends are holding a fundraiser on Tuesday, November 26th, at The Slice in Rancho Mirage. A portion of the night’s sales will go to help pay Adrian’s medical bills.
