Elementary school deprived of water following theft
Local elementary school students had to be bussed to a nearby school in order to use the bathroom on Tuesday. James Madison Elementary School was left without water after someone stole water valves from the property on Monday night, according to school officials.
The principal of the school said the valves were made of brass and he believes whoever stole them probably thought they were made out of copper, which is worth more money.
Port-o-potties were brought to the school a short while after the water outage was discovered. Officials expect water will be restored to the school around 3 p.m.
Police are currently investigating the crime.
