Coachella Valley Unified School District selects 2014 board officers

The Coachella Valley Unified School District held its annual organization meeting Thursday night to select the new board officers for 2014.

The district selected Lowell Kamper and Manuel Jarvis-Martinez to continue serving as President and Vice President, according to officials. Kamper has been with the board since 2010 and Jarvis-Martinez has been serving since 2008.

Together, the pair have over 50 years of experience in education, working as board members and teachers. Officials said a big reason they were selected for 2014 is because their actions and decisions are never made lightly and always reflect their support for students, staff and the community.

Meagan Caress, was also re-elected as the Governing Board Clerk.
