Coachella Valley residents brace for another scorching hot day
High pressure building over the Four Corners area is expected to cause temperatures to soar to nearly 120 degrees today in the Coachella Valley, forecasters said.
A National Weather Service heat advisory is set to take effect at 11 a.m. for the Coachella Valley and for Riverside County’s mountains and valleys, and will extend until 9 p.m. Friday.
Temperatures of 112 to 118 degrees are forecast for the Coachella Valley and highs could reach 105 degrees in the mountains, meteorologists said.

Weather service forecasters said hot weather can be stressful for people and pets if precautions are not taken.
Kids and pets must not be left unattended in vehicles because temperatures inside can quickly rise to lethallevels.
Strenuous outdoor activities should be rescheduled to early morning or evening hours, and those planning to spend time outdoors were advised to drink plenty of water and avoid alcoholic beverages.
The National Weather Service forecast highs today of 118 in Thermal; 116 in Palm Springs; 115 in Indio and Blythe; 110 in Desert Hot Springs; 105 in Hemet and Lake Elsinore; 104 in Moreno Valley; 103 in Riverside; 100 in Corona and Temecula; and 91 in Idyllwild. Highs will be a few degrees lower Friday.
