Woman dies after drowning in Palm Desert
A 31-year-old woman has died after drowning in a swimming pool at the Casa Larrea Motel in Palm Desert Wednesday morning.
The Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as Lena Ramadan of Washington D.C.
Officers from the Palm Desert Police Department were called to the motel, located at 73771 Larrea Street, around 11:40 a.m. Emergency medical crews had already arrived and were trying to resuscitate Ramadan.
She was taken to the hospital in full cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at about 12:30 p.m., according to the coroner’s office.
According to a release from the Palm Desert Police Department, there were no signs of foul play and all evidence suggests it was a tragic accidental drowning.
