Cathedral City reopens roads affected by floods

Cathedral City has reopened all roads, including Varner Road, that were affected by flash floods that occurred Monday, September 8 in the Coachella Valley.

However, officials said Varner Road east of Date Palm Drive will remain blocked to through traffic because Varner is still closed at the city limit of Thousand Palms as the county continues to cleanup.

As soon as the cleanup process is complete, Cathedral City will reopen the remainder of Varner Road to all traffic, according to the city’s release.
