Faulty water heater causes Coachella attic fire
A faulty water heater caused the attic fire that scorched a home in Coachella Sunday, according to CAL FIRE.
Firefighters were dispatched at 12:26 p.m. Saturday to an address in the 52300 block of Dos Palmas Avenue.
Firefighters were able to keep the flames from spreading in the attic almost 30 minutes later, Riverside County Fire Department spokeswoman Jody Hagemann said.
No one was hurt in the fire. Everyone inside the home was able to get out in time but the fire caused $30,000 in damage.
