4 displaced, 2 injured after house catches fire in Indio

Four people were displaced and two people suffered minor injuries after a home caught fire in Indio late Wednesday night.

Officials with Cal Fire said they responded to the 81000 block of Avenida Gonzalez at 11:50 p.m. Firefighters were able to contain the fire to garage of the single-story home just before 12:20 a.m.

Two people were treated for minor injuries, including one person who was burned slightly on the foot. Both patients were treated by paramedics on scene.

Officials estimate $50,000 in damage to the home. Red Cross was contacted at 12:45 a.m. Thursday to assist the four displaced adults.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
