3.6 magnitude earthquake rattles Joshua Tree National Park

The USGS reports an earthquake with a magnitude of 3.6 struck in Joshua Tree National Park at 8:37 am Friday. The preliminary magnitude was 3.7.

The temblor was centered 14 miles south of Twentynine Palms and 17 miles northeast of Indio.

This is the fourth quake in the last 30 days with a magnitude greater than 2.5 in the mountains just north of Pleasant Valley, just east of Malapai Hill.

A 3.7 magnitude earthquake hit the area on February 25th

Over 20 “did you feel it” reports were filled out on the USGS website.

No damage has been reported.
