Boys and Girls Clubs offering summer meals

The Boys and Girls Clubs of Coachella Valley are helping children in need with nutritional meals this summer.

Each day, members of the Boys and Girls Clubs can get free breakfast and lunch at various clubhouse locations.

More than 2,000 children have taken advantage of the program.

Some valley students rely on free or reduced lunches during the school year and during the summer and that’s why the Boys and Girls Clubs started “meals for summer.”

The program is sponsored by the Palm Springs and the Desert Sands Unified School Districts.

The Boys and Girls Club say they’ll have provided around 90-thousand free meals by the end of the summer.
