SWAT arrests 2 men accused of armed robbery, shooting in Coachella
Two Coachella men are under arrest, accused of two robberies that occurred within three days time.
Damian Alba, 22, and 18-year-old Alex Ceballos were taken into custody after SWAT members served two search warrants early Thursday morning, according to the sheriff’s department.
The investigation began after a pizza delivery man was assaulted and robbed in the 89400 block of Bagdad Street on the night of September 9. Three days later, Coachella police officers were called after a woman was shot and had her car stolen in the 53500 block of Harrison Street around 4:20 a.m., officers said in the release.
The woman was treated for a non life-threatening wound.
Authorities said Alba was arrested in the 51800 block of Douma Street in Coachella following Thursday morning’s search warrant. He’s facing charges of armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon.
Ceballos was arrested in the 84700 block of Calle Rojo for felony possession of a firearm, participating in a criminal street gang and committing a felony while on bail, according to police.
