Thousands of cyclists gather for Patriot Ride

Thousands of cyclists from all over the country turned out for the Patriot Ride in Indio Saturday morning.

The event brought together cyclists of all abilities to honor those who have served and continue to serve our country. The Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio were lined with American flags as participants returned from their various rides.

Cyclists and organizers said the day is all about saying thank you.

“The message is to honor these guys, give them the thanks they deserve. I know the government has a lot things going on and budgets are cut so we want to give them our support and let them know we love them and pep them up,” said Patriot Ride founder Tim Esser.

Booths were set up after the race from various organizations promoting health and wellness as part of the Patriot Ride expo.
