Police search for wanted suspect in Cathedral City

Cathedral City police officers joined forces with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department to search for a suspect wanted on outstanding warrants Saturday night.

We received several calls into our newsroom after 8 p.m. about a lot of police activity on Ramon Road near Date Palm Drive.

Viewers told us at one point a helicopter circled the desert area with a spot light. The sheriff’s department said it’s helicopter was called in to help CCPD locate the suspect who had run from police.

Cathedral City police said the search was called off around 9:15 p.m. and the suspect was not found.
