I-10 lanes reopen after deadly crash near Jefferson in Indio
UPDATE 2:20pm: The CHP said all lanes reopened on eastbound I-10 in Indio after a deadly crash shutdown lanes for hours.
CAL Fire said a semi-truck and two passenger vehicles were involved. One person died at the scene of the crash and another person suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. A third person wasn’t hurt.
Fire crews assisted in the freeway closure and cut a victim from the wreckage.
The eastbound off-ramp is expected to reopen Sunday, according to the CHP.
UPDATE 1:45pm: The California Highway Patrol said two lanes of eastbound I-10 are back open, but the #3 lane and the Jefferson off-ramp in Indio remain closed at this time.

An accident on I-10 Eastbound at Jefferson is causing traffic delays.
Viewers who called the newsroom said a white mini van was hit by a big rig just before 7 a.m.
The mini van flipped and is currently upside down on the highway.
California Highway Patrol said all eastbound lanes are closed and a coroner is on the way.
If possible avoid the area.
