Fire sparks under Ramon Road bridge
Firefighters were called to the Ramon Road bridge in Palm Springs on Thursday after a small fire ignited below the bridge.
Firefighters responded at about 3 p.m. after people began reporting heavy smoke in the air as they were driving in the area. The Ramon Road bridge is located between Landau Boulevard and Crossley Road.
The scene was cleared by about 3:30 p.m. There’s no word as to what caused the fire at this time.

The last time a fire ignited under the Ramon Road bridge was on November 20. A man died after accidentally setting himself on fire while making a methamphetamine-type substance, Palm Springs police said.
