Indio approves expansion for Coachella and Stagecoach

Goldenvoice won a major victory at the Indio City Council meeting Wednesday night. In a unanimous vote, of 3-0, with 2 members abstaining, the council voted yes on expanding the number of visitors allowed at Coachella and Stagecoach.

Goldenvoice has asked to raise the cap on attendance for both festivals, increasing Coachella from 99-thousand to 125-thousand and from 75-thousand at Stagecoach to 85-thousand.

The council also approved mic checks to begin at 9 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

The festival is also going to add almost 20 acres to the site. The new areas will be used for security, parking, and camping.
